Update on 5/6/20 @ 8AM: We have upgraded the PPE2.0 masks to PPE2.5. Based on customer requests, they have an additional elastic band that goes over your head, above your ears, to make them even more comfortable. See latest image with crazy guy.
We have raised the price to $27.75 (from $25 from PPE1.0) to absorb the PRIORITY USPS 2day shipping cost.
While we can't certify this meets or exceeds the N95 Standards, it is what WE wear in public during this COVID19 fuckery.
The masks are contoured to fit snug to your face, have velcro closure in the rear, and fit a large range of size heads and faces. It is machine washable and reusable. Air dry only, don't use a clothes dryer.
The materials used consist of 2 layers of plush fabric, 2 layers of foam and one layer of electrostatic mesh in the center. It allows you to breathe, yet requires some effort. We based the design on the info we acquired in this Forbes article and the materials we had available. We are relying on the diffusion and electrostatic theories for filtration.
Our somewhat crude scientific, in-shop tests, which involved a powerful wall-mounted shop vacuum and the supper fine dust trapped in our carpet vacuum HEPA filter) indicate our fabric sandwich was as effective as the n95 masks we had available.
BTW. We have donated a few hundred units and have only been selling them to purchase more materials to make another batch. Paid masks have been a 1 to 2 ratio to donated masks.
BTW2. I have added our design pattern in case you want to make your own. The overall dimension of each part is 13" long and 7" tall. You need 4 of those and 2 velcro pieces.
